Zohar Fischer

Engineering Leader

Engineering leader with twelve years across product and platform, five leading teams. I build engineering organizations and the systems that make them faster. Looking for a Director of Engineering role in Western Europe.

At Lendbuzz I run a team of seven building the internal developer platform, tooling, and processes for ~150 engineers across ~20 product teams, the infrastructure layer that determines how easily teams ship, including how the org adopts AI and agentic coding tools. Before that, at Fireblocks, I led teams across developer experience, customer-facing SDKs, and the policy engine used by enterprise customers.

My career started in backend product engineering (microservices, data pipelines, financial infrastructure) and moved through team leadership into platform and organizational design. That range is deliberate. The best engineering leaders I've worked with understand both sides: what product teams need, and what it takes to give it to them at scale.

I care about coherent org design, defining the processes and guardrails that let teams move fast safely, hiring for the team you'll want in two years rather than the seat you need filled this quarter, and treating developer experience as something that changes what the business can ship, not an afterthought. I work in English, hold Israeli and US citizenship, and am ready to relocate.

Lendbuzz-
Infrastructure Platform Team Lead

Leading a team of seven engineers building the internal developer platform, tooling, and processes for ~150 engineers across ~20 product teams.

  • Leading the company-wide tooling effort for AI and agentic coding adoption: evaluating, integrating, and scaling the tools that are changing how our engineers work.
  • Reduced microservice deployment time from roughly one hour to two minutes through the internal developer platform.
  • Reduced new-microservice time-to-production from three months to three weeks through the MST framework, which lets us create new microservices with injected boilerplate tailored to the developer's needs, and push workflows, libraries, and updates to existing services across the fleet.
  • Our team's tools and processes have ~90% weekly and ~60% daily active use across the engineering org.
  • Every new microservice ships compliant with the engineering standards, workflows, and libraries we defined.
  • Chair the company's monthly engineering demo forum, with full team participation across the org. A shared space for teams to show what they're shipping and why.
  • Present quarterly and annual vision and priorities to the entire company.
Fireblocks-
Team Lead, Developer Experience

Joined as a Senior Backend Engineer and grew into leading three teams over three years, managing up to seven engineers across two concurrent teams at peak.

  • Piloted the company's first cross-functional squad model. After proving it in my team, the company adopted it as the organizational standard.
  • Architected and shipped a self-service policy engine used by Fireblocks' enterprise customers to manage their transaction policies, turning a process that took days into one that takes minutes.
  • Built the Fireblocks Developer Center: the in-console tools that let every customer monitor their own API activity, backed by a near-real-time usage pipeline. Released to sandbox first, then rolled out to all account types.
  • Owned the sandbox environment that hosts all Fireblocks sandbox accounts, including setup, operations, and new feature development.
  • Led the auto-generated customer-facing SDKs in TypeScript, Python, and Java, with tens of thousands of weekly downloads on npm and PyPI.
  • Chaired the cross-org API standards forum, setting the conventions for all customer-facing APIs.
  • Interviewed, onboarded new interviewers, and designed the backend hiring loop across multiple teams. Contributed to the SDLC workflows adopted org-wide.
Allot Communications · Bizzabo · NEX Markets-
Earlier roles

Squad Leader at Allot Communications, managing five engineers split between Tel Aviv and Belarus, building mobile and embedded software for large-scale telecom providers. Senior backend roles at Bizzabo (microservices, data pipelines) and NEX Markets (financial infrastructure).

A Director of Engineering role at a European tech company, ideally a scale-up in Series B to D, though I'm open to later-stage or established companies with the right problems to solve.

The strongest fit is an org where engineering matters: clear ownership at the team level, coherent structure, and developer experience treated as core. Platform scope is welcome but not required; I've led both product engineering and platform teams.

Looking to relocate from Tel Aviv to Western Europe, with a preference for the Netherlands, Germany, or Denmark. Israeli and US citizen.
